#88 How We Made Noise – Book launch
The three founding years of Buro Stedelijk under Rita Ouédraogo’s curatorship. Join us for the launch of 'How We Made Noise: Reimagining the Museum From Within'.
On November 27, we celebrate and look back, together. We celebrate the first three years of Buro Stedelijk under Rita Ouédraogo’s curatorship, in which it grew to a space that challenged the museum from within and to make room for experimentation, self-reflection, and collaborations that rarely happen inside museum walls. Over the past three years, we’ve worked to create moments of exchange, dialogue, and disruption — inviting artists, thinkers, and communities to engage with what a museum can be and do today.
As her term comes to an end this year, we are marking the close of this founding cycle with the publication How We Made Noise: Reimagining the Museum From Within, the three founding years of Buro Stedelijk, co-published with Onomatopee. As editor, she has invited artists, writers, and cultural practitioners who have shaped and inspired this work to contribute to the publication. The book offers insights into the experiments, questions, and collaborative processes that defined her curatorial approach for Buro Stedelijk, and reflects on what it means to create space for imagination within institutional frameworks.
We hope to see you on this special evening, where we celebrate over 250 collaborators, 88 manifestations, one publication and all of you, who have also been part of Buro Stedelijk.
