My recent work Dormancy Trail (2023) consists of a trail of chocolate bugs circulating in and around airconditioning units. Instead of accepting the fluctuating seasonal temperatures, the work displays bugs hibernating in our homes as a result of the need to create artificial climates in order to make spaces liveable. Instead of accepting the fluctuating seasonal temperatures. While the relation between the cute and the unsettling is investigated this body of work takes an observational approach rather than a critical one as I Inspect current global issues.

Mijn recente werk Dormancy Trail (2023) bestaat uit een spoor van chocoladekevers die in en rond airconditioning units circuleren. In plaats van onze natuurlijke seizoensgebonden temperatuurschommelingen te accepteren, toont het werk insecten die een winterslaap houden in onze huizen als gevolg van het creëren van een kunstmatig klimaat om ruimtes leefbaar te maken. Terwijl de grens tussen het schattige en het verontrustende wordt verkend, biedt dit werk een meer observerende dan een kritische benadering om de huidige mondiale problematiek onder de loep te nemen.
