#1 Listening Sessions
An engaging and thought-provoking two-day manifestation on April 14 and 15, 2023.
During Buro Stedelijk’s Listening Sessions, co-founding curators Rita Ouédraogo and Azu Nwagbogu present Buro Stedelijk’s vision and listen to a diverse range of proposals and ideas about topics that hold significance for Buro Stedelijk. The aim is to engage in critical discussions and exchange innovative ideas about archives, cultural labour, institution building, and mediation.
On Friday, we listened to Martijn van Nieuwenhuyzen, Leontine Coelewij and Jelle Bouwhuis, Marjet Zwaans, Edje Doekoe and Toya Saakie, Niovi Zarampouka-Chatzimanou, Emily Shin-Jie Lee, Donghwan Kam, Özgür Atlagan and Kanitha Tith, senakirfa A., Inge Meijer, Willem de Rooij, Setareh Noorani. We ended the day with words and moves by Simomo Bouj and Floor van Leeuwen.
Saturday, we started with words and visuals by Stephanie Schuitemaker and Berber Meindertsma, followed by Viviane Tabach, Quinsy Gario, Alina Lupu, Simone Zeefuik, Renzo Martens, Timothy Aarons, Andrea Voets, Joram Kraaijeveld and Ana Bravo Pérez. We finished the day with tunes by Rice, Peas, Roots and Culture, Marcel van den Berg and Wes Mapes.
Both days are introduced by Buro Stedelijk’s co-founding curators and moderated by Yvette Mutumba.
