Rice, Peas, Roots and Culture

Since August 2021, Wes Mapes and Marcel van den Berg host a monthly radio show on Echobox Radio called Rice, Peas, Roots and Culture (RPRC). A Pan African/Diasporic variety show of sorts. It’s a space meant for joy, rejoice, camaraderie, community building, reflection and cathartic contemplation. The main focus of the show is on making connections between art, music, culture, food, and politics. Past, present and future. Musically the show ranges from hip hop, reggae, funk, techno, blues, jazz, electro and all genres that cross-over.
