Milena Anna Bouma

Milena Anna Bouma (1994) is a visual artist, mainly working in sculpture and installation. Her sculptures, spatial installations consist of a continuous research after the status and identity of domesticated objects in relation to the 21st century and our current Zeitgeist. In her works she constantly searches for new ways to grasp liveliness in non-living objects and materials such as utensils, clothes or food, as well as domesticated spaces and animals. She tries to understand the “hybridisation” of the alive and the artificial through approaching objects in an anatomic manner, and with this in the back of her mind, she dissects objects and commodities of their function and information.
