Jelmer Teunissen
Jelmer Teunissen is a transdisciplinary maker, designer, and researcher based in Rotterdam (NL) with a practice grounded in urban political ecology, abolition ecology and bioregionalism. Their work focuses on socio-technical-ecological histories, struggles and futures. Through this work, Jelmer aims to critically and compassionately question the spatial, political and ecological entanglements that shape our lifeworlds in order to challenge our relationships with our environments within the collective and more-than-human predicament of planetary polycrisis. Jelmer has a freelance practice in architecture and spatial design in which they work towards expressive and thoughtful spaces, structures, installations, and objects.
Collaborators and clients include Metro54, IABR, Stroom Den Haag, Setareh Noorani, Amsterdam Museum, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Sonsbeek, Amsterdam University of the Arts, SMET, Buro Stedelijk, Buitenplaats Brienenoord, BK TU Delft, and Design Museum Den Bosch.
