Ana María Gómez López

Ana María Gómez López is an artist from Cali, Colombia currently based in The Netherlands. Her practice centers on biological definitions of life, legacies of utopian thought, and archival research in the history of science. Recent and upcoming exhibitions featuring her work include institutions such as the Stedelijk Museum, Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz, Villa 102 KfW Stiftung, Stroom den Haag, and the Deichtorhallen. Ana María was a resident artist at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (2017/2018) and was recently a 2023/2034 Abigal R. Cohen Fellow at the Columbia University Institute for Ideas and Imagination in Paris. The work on display was developed through a Smithsonian Institution Artist Research Fellowship in the National Museum for Natural History and the National Air and Space Museum, Washington, DC.
