Aukje Dekker

Aukje Dekker (1983, Rotterdam) is a master of magnificent mayhem — a visual and conceptual artist, club owner, performer, and all-round cultural instigator. Now based in Asturias, Spain, she graduated cum laude from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and went on to complete two MFAs at the Sandberg Instituut and Central Saint Martins in London.

Her work has been shown at galleries, museums, and fairs around the world, including Ultra Super New Gallery (Tokyo), Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, IMT Gallery (London), Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Unseen Amsterdam, FIAC Paris, and Loop Barcelona.

Never one to stay in a single lane, Dekker also co-founded and directs SEXYLAND World. A 400m² labyrinth of organized chaos that’s part club, part art house, part meeting place, part restaurant, hairdresser, and gallery. This cultural experiment embodies her philosophy of radical heterogeneity and creative freedom.

A self-proclaimed “ADHD enigma,” Dekker thrives on dissolving boundaries between disciplines and people, sparking unexpected encounters across all layers of society — all while proving that being taken seriously is wildly overrated.
