Nuria Bofarull
Nuria Bofarull (Barcelona, 1994) is a curator and storyteller working with photography and mixed media. Her curatorial practice centers around new narratives and exhibition-displaying strategies, the intersection of photography with installation, counter-archival practices and cutting-edge experimentations of contemporary photographers with the medium.
Her work is committed to the search for new curatorial strategies grounded in empathy and affectionate exhibition formats that can shed light on underexposed and unrepresented narratives. She is also intrigued by the exploration of themes such as neo-imperialism, collective healing and repair, collaborative practices, languages of resistance, as well as the notions of curating as caring and discomfort as a curatorial strategy.
In September 2023 she started her journey as a curatorial intern at Buro Stedelijk combined with her position as lecturer and curator of the Exhibition Lab “Unframing and Unfolding Photography” (KABK, MA Photography & Society).
