Niovi Zarampouka-Chatzimanou
Niovi Zarampouka-Chatzimanou (1988), is an Athens based curator and co-Director of Counterpoints in Greece. With an academic background in architecture, curatorial practices (MA) and cultural management (MA), her research interests focus on socially and politically engaged art projects working on themes like national identity and citizenship. She recently curated the the works in the public space “Sanctuary city” by Eirini Linardaki and “We apologize” by Adrian Paci. As the Director of Victoria Square Project (2019-2022) she developed and curated its long term research program “Who is the Contemporary Athenian?”. She was the Director of Art in Public Space at Eleusis 2021 European capital of Culture, and contributed in documenta 14 as Community Liaison in Athens. Niovi is the co-founder of MΕΣΑ Museum of Free Thinking People, a contemporary art outreach project for people in prison in Greece. Her work experience involves working in The Peggy Guggenheim Collection (Venice, IT), T.A.M.A. (GR), The Museum of Cycladic Art (Athens, GR), Viafarini DOCVA (Milan, IT) and Venice Biennial (Venice, IT). She was a fellow of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Public Humanities Initiative at Columbia University (2020-2022), the Robert Bosch Stiftung (2014-2016) and a participant in the curatorial exchange by the NEON organization for contemporary art and The Whitechapel Gallery.
