Don Yaw Kwaning

Don Yaw Kwaning (1990) creates new materials or manipulates existing ones to reveal new characteristics. In his work, he plays with plant-based raw materials and concepts around ecology, aiming to shift our egocentric mindset towards an ecocentric belief in which not humans but the entire ecosystem is normative. Earlier material innovations developed by him have been included in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and exhibited at Design Museum Gent and Kunstenlab Deventer, among others.
