Nadie Borggreve (1991, Amsterdam) creates tufted landscapes in which nature and imagination merge. Her work grows from an intuitive process of collecting, unraveling and re-dyeing discarded textiles and worn garments, materials that carry traces of previous lives and become part of an ongoing cycle of transformation. Through her distinctive hand dyeing processes wool gains an intense, almost luminous quality. Forests, night skies and reflections on water appear as fragmented landscapes shaped by perception and memory, resembling stained glass where wool seems to capture light and open into deep, immersive spaces.
For the Side Hustle Fair she presents a selection of hand-dyed wool sweaters — wearable works in which her color practice and sense of transformation come together in an accessible new form.
