Soraya Lutangu Bonaventure is a composer and theater maker whose practice materializes the fugitive points of friction between ecstasy and mourning. Guided by a curiosity for how systems of violence interlock with the textures of everyday life, her work explores the degrees of legibility suspended in our gazes, and the potential to imagine otherwise. Grounded at the crossroads of embodied knowledge and critical theory, SLB embraces multiplicity and builds choreographies of both repair and revenge. Her works and performances have been presented at MoMA PS1, Centre Pompidou, ICA London and Miami, Bangkok City City Gallery, Chisenhale Gallery, Arsenic Theatre, Friart Kunsthalle, Hartwig Foundation, Centre d’Art Contemporain de Genève, Berghain, MGKSiegen, and the Swiss Institute, among others.
